With expertise in Analytics, Contract Research and Custom Synthesis, WeylChem InnoTec is an agile and innovative partner to the fine chemical industry with a focus on the pharmaceutical and electronics markets. Founded in 2017, WeylChem InnoTec combines the long-term experience of its predecessor companies Höchst AG, Allessa Syntec and Allessa and looks back on a long track record of successful projects.  From the very first idea and concept to production, more than 120 highly skilled scientists and technicians, embedded in a unique flexible environment and connected to an excellent infrastructure, are dedicated to turn customers’ ideas into reality.

Role in the Project

WeylChem InnoTec will make use of its competencies in contract development and custom synthesis for the PUReSmart project to develop brand-new co-monomers for PU and, within the WeylChem Group of companies, provide scale up capabilities for these new materials.

Klaus Forstinger

Dr. Klaus Forstinger studied Chemistry at the University of Kaiserslautern, where he received his Ph.D. in 1985. Right afterwards, he started his industrial career in 1986 as a R&D Lab Manager at the former Hoechst site in Offenbach and became Senior Project Manager Fluoroaromatics in 1990. From 1994, on behalf of Hoechst AG, Division Fine Chemials he held a 4 year appointment abroad as General Manager R&D at Colour Chem India in Bombay/Thane, a subsidiary of the former Hoechst AG. During this tenure, Fine Chemicals has been hived off into Clariant. Back in Germany, he worked at Clariant AG as Senior R&D Group Leader at different Clariant sites. From 2016, he was Director R&D at WeylChem Frankfurt and Allessa. With the spin-off of the WeylChem InnoTec from Allessa in 2017, he was appointed as Vice president of R&D. During his career Klaus has gather deep Know-how in process development and optimization especially in Organic- and Metalorganic Chemistry, experimental planning by Design of Experiments (DoE), Reaction calorimetry and Microreaction technology.

Ralf Findeis

Dr. Ralf Findeis obtained his PhD in chemistry at the University of Würzburg. During his chemistry studies, he was a visiting scientist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and worked during his PhD thesis at the Université Louis-Pasteur in Strasbourg. Ralf started his industrial career at Honeywell in organic production as a process chemist and Six Sigma Black Belt. In 2003, he joined AllessaSyntec as a project manager and later established the R&D group at AllessaSyntec as Head of Business Development. For several years, he was plant manager of a high-pressure production and pilot plant. Before Ralf joined the marketing & sales team of WeylChem InnoTec end of 2018, he was responsible for the implementation of new technical approaches and developing innovative ideas for customer needs as Director of the New Technology department. Based on his background he combines expertise in R&D, process development, chemical production, project management and customer relations.
